One of my favorite questions is, Who Are You?

Yet so often, we are instead asked: what do you do?

Well, I am a Director at Echoing Green, a global leadership accelerator based in New York City. I lead a team that directly supports the incredible community of social entrepreneurs that we’ve invested in. I am a trained leadership coach via New York University, a facilitator that has led countless trainings with nonprofits and corporations, a frequent speaker, and a writer (check out some of my favorites at Forbes and SSIR). Yet these things don’t tell you who I AM, and to me, that is so much more important. So let me try:

I am a human who is completely dedicated to supporting others on their journey towards purpose and living the life they want to live. I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and confidante. I believe that each of us has so much potential, and that with the right conditions, many of us can thrive so much more than we do already. I also believe that the world is unfair, and unjust, and we each must do our part to make it far more equitable. I am from a small town in Massachusetts, went to college in Boston, lived in Manhattan for nearly ten years, Connecticut for two, and am back in Massachusetts. I am so many things, and I know you are too. At the end of the day, I am positive, fun-loving, nurturing, and as one of my favorite assessments once told me, the perfect balance of tough and kind. I also believe in the power of candor, since sharing our true selves might just help someone else, and look forward to sharing glimpses of my story through my blog and social media.
